The 249 addresses that mint directly from the Layer Zero contract are the protocol's Founding Nodes — permanently, regardless of whether they later sell their token.
Founding Node status is tied to the act of minting, not to holding. It cannot be transferred, lost, or revoked. Like the Provenance Royalties mechanism itself, early participation creates permanent rights.

Hidden within the 250 tokens, 5 rare intruder tokens carry a special identity — revealed 30 days after mint opens.
Their positions were determined before deployment using a provably fair commit-reveal mechanism. The seed hash is public and immutable:

Intruder tokens carry a unique identity within the collection. Their rarity (5 out of 250) and narrative role within the Cipolla universe make them a distinct position in the ownership history.
Note on this simulation. For P2P sales via buyP2P(): the transaction is atomic — payment, token transfer, and royalty distribution happen in a single on-chain operation. Either everything executes or nothing does. Royalties are calculated directly from msg.value, making the distribution exact and trustless.
For marketplace sales: many marketplaces apply zero-royalty policies, undermining the value chain Provenance Royalties is designed to protect. Marketplace buyers are NOT added to the ownership history and receive no future royalties. Existing holders still receive their share via distributeRoyalties() — called manually by the contract owner (restricted after an external audit to prevent wash trading).
